I remember road trips growing up where we had to use maps or ask for directions when traveling, relied on phones in hotel rooms, and counldn't live without a TV in our room. Now as an adult I've never owned a land-line phone (barely ever used one), haven't seen a real map in years, and couldn't care less about the hotel TV (thats what iPad's are for)! Technology has certainly changed signifigantly in the past decade or so, and that change has had a tremendous impact on how we use technology to travel.
They still have land-line phones in history museums!
