Jack's Cafe at Andrea's
Originally opened in 1911 and one of the most recommended places to visit in Kenosha, Jack's Cafe was a must visit on our list. Andrea's is actually an ole time gift store, but within that store is Jack's Cafe. The cafe is a small eat-in restaurant with quite an extensive menu. We arrived at breakfast and enjoyed a variety of breakfast dishes and even some gourmet coffees. The gift shop also provided some entertainment for our son while we waited for our food, and of course we did some shopping as well.

The Brat Stop
"One acre under a roof without a car for sale" famously describes this massive (its 46,000 sq ft) restaurant that is often referred to as the "Gateway to Wisconsin." The Brat Stop features an extensive menu of Wisconsin favorites, including brats. They also have a large stage for entertainment and a shop selling Wisconsin memorabilia and food items. The food was very good and of high-quality and the service was incredibly nice. Located right of the interstate and visited by nearly half a million people every year, this is a must-eat in Kenosha!

A locally owned family establishment features authentic Mexican cuisine in a very family friendly atmosphere. We ordered a feast (my eyes were a bit hungrier than my stomach) and enjoyed as much as we could eat. Our son tried soda for the first time (a strawberry flavored soda from Mexico) and hated it (good news for us, and our dentist) though mom and dad thought it was pretty good!

Kaiser's Pizza & Pub
Located in historic downtown Kenosha, Kaiser's is a large pub featuring thin crust pizza in addition to the usual pub fare. They had a large children's menu and one of the better burgers I have enjoyed in awhile (the Kaiser Burger, which is a burger stuffed with cheese, onions, peppers, and mushrooms). In the evenings Kaiser's looked like it is a hopping bar, but during the day (we had lunch) it was the perfect spot for some family-friendly dining.

Can't believe your son hated strawberry soda...I love that stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit spicy, which he doesn't like anything spicy at all. I loved it though :)
